Free Town Concert

“In Memoriam”. Elegy for Toni Canet.

The Free Town duet, composed by Jesús Salvador ‘Chapi’ (vibraphone, percussion) and Carles Salvador (marimba, percussion), will offer a concert in which they will “remember the figure of filmmaker Toni Canet through their fascinating attitudes and feelings towards life and music “. They will interpret “some of the songs we talked about in those long conversations we used to keep with Toni, full of vitality and honesty.” An act that is a gratefulness to the legacy of the filmmaker, which highlights his “potent human dimension.”

Free Town is a project based on today’s music, spontaneity, creation and improvisation as a means of expression, which takes as a starting point the aesthetic principles of the vital music of our century, from musical or extramusical elements. A formation that interrelates the strength and charisma of popular music with the formal intellect of the great creations of the history of music, all under the influence of the sounds of the marimba and the percussion vibraphone.

The circumstance also occurs that Jesus Salvador ‘Chapi’ actively participated in the soundtrack of “Calç blanca, negro carbón”, the posthumous movie of Toni Canet.
