A severe drought is ravaging the vast rice fields on the east coast of Spain. After travelling around the world, a biologist has the chance to return to his roots to protect the natural landscape where he lived as a child. But the measures he must take will bring him into conflict with the locals, who see their way of life and subsistence under attack.
