After the Spanish Civil War, Carmela joins the militias alongside thousands of other women. Her struggle is twofold: to confront fascism and defend the freedoms won during the Second Republic. In combat, a homemade grenade amputates the hand she had used to uphold her ideals and wield her weapon in defence of her rights.

8 o'clock in the morning, 7-year-old boys and girls entering the school playground: the boys go to the left to play with a ball, the girls go to the right to look at a sticker album. Claudia doesn't know which side to go to because she likes to play football. She “isn't like the other girls”: that's what they tell her, that's how they make her feel. Shortly afterwards, bodies change and the school playground becomes bigger and more complex. This raises some questions: Who wants to be a woman? Why would we want to be women? What does it mean to be a woman?
