In 12th-century Córdoba, the celebrated philosopher Averroes produced an important body of work. The influence of his teaching spread through the Enlightenment and remains relevant today. To appease the fundamentalists, Caliph Al-Mansur orders all of Averroes's books to be burned. His followers decide to make copies of his books and smuggle them across the border.
